Alien: I have come to Take over your bouys!

:flag: :chopper:

Alien: YOU DARE TO DEFY ME!!!!???

:beam:

Alien: MWAHAHAHA, Now... You will allow me to take the bouy and set it adrift so that the NHC believes there are "blobs" popping up all over the Atlantic. Everyone will stay up 24/7 to watch every decimal of pressure change and await every reading from the nonstop recon planes. They will continue to watch satillite loops over and over till their eyes cross, they fall out of their chairs exhausted, and allow the rest of our space army to land and take over the planet!

Perhaps flocks of amorous sea birds hijacked it for use as a remote nesting place.

These sorts of things can happen when buoy meets gull.

You know... it's interesting how this buoy was deployed on June 6th. Eight days later to goes adrift.

Haha, love the reference to 'Lost.'

Everyone knows that when something unexplainable happens in the tropics, it makes life so much easier to point the finger at the remnants of Ivan. =)

I have enjoyed reading this thread! However, this is not the first buoy to go adrift. The Buoy 70 miles South of Dauphin Island was set adrift during hurricane Ivan. I think they was actually getting readings from the Southeast Gulf at one time.

If I'm not mistaken, there are about a dozen, roughly, buoys that are adrift at this time.
