It's ULL season in the GOM

#1 Postby dhweather » Sat Jun 25, 2005 10:06 pm

One moving through the Northern gulf coast - MS/LA

Another over extreme south Texas.

No worries of GOM activity with this pattern.

Nope but at least the air over SE TX is getting a little moisture into it. Maybe just maybe we can squeeze some sea breeze action out of it. WE need rain bad!!!

The ULL is keeping it so dry over us - we're just out of luck until
the center of it gets away from us with its dry air.

We're getting a couple down here. We had a nice little boomer that passed just to the north of us yesterday, and looking at the radar, it looks like they're already popping this morning.

Nothing popping in this part of LA. I did hear one thunder late last night, but not a drop to be had. Waiting for the tumbleweeds to roll by!

It's rained here about 4 times in the last 12-14 hours. That's the same vortex that was off SW FL last week, crossed the state, retrograded west and kinda stuck around. As far as the pattern, don't let ULL's fool you into thinking you can't have tropical development near one. It all depends on positioning.
