Jamaica, our only hope....

Jamaica is our only hope guys. Dennis need to make a direct hit on the island and have its inner core disrupted. If Dennis skirts around the Island than Dennis most likely will be a major hurricane in the GOM cause western Cuba won't do much to weaken Dennis......MGC

Gilbert intensified while tracking across the entire length of the island. it then ebcame a cat 5 a few hours after moving into the NW Carib

Dont count on much disruption

Is Jamaca even big enough to really disrupt it even if it took a direct hit (not wishing that on Jamaca obviously)? Its a fairly large circulation and a tiny little island.

I was just going to post that...it got sontrger while moving over the island. I remember watching it up at the met lab at A7M and we all thought it would knock it down some...the first recon after Jamaica shocked us.

Besides..if it looks like a direct hit, it'll do the Ivan Island Shuffle.

Only my opinion... but looking at the latest visible loops, I have a hard time beleiving that Dennis will track north of Jamaica as forecast. It appears to be moving mostly to the west. To me, there are big implications in the future track and landfall along the northern gulf based on whether Dennis tracks south of Jamaica instead of north. Thoughts?

dont count on..i think it was ivan that got close and then the center literally bounced off staying south in the open water
