Upper 90s for the third straight day, and not a drop of rain. I think heat advisories are going to go out for my area Sun, Mon, and Tues, as temps will be in the upper 90s and the lows may not get below 80 degrees.
I am sick of this heat. Bring on fall!

I can sympathize Kristi I am taking care of 6 dogs this weekend and they all looked at me like I was nuts so I have decided they are all just going to have to pretend daylight hours are now night time. They are just in and I will just have to walk everyone at 3 am when at least it is tolerable.
I am really surprised I have not heard about a lot of deaths because of this long long stretch of heat. It scares me to think of people without AC.

Sorry, no sympathies from here as we've been going through this since mid June-except with ACTUAL temperatures of 110-120F and recently with the dewpoints going up (75F dews in TUS/PHX/YUM this morning) the HI's have been on the high side (117-119F the past three days in YUM). The difference between humid heat and "dry" heat is that the former boils you and the latter microwaves you which means you die faster in dry heat.

Yeah... the media reports sound like it's been pretty deadly out there. We at least have had these afternoon storms(except today) to cool certain people off.

Chicago has their cooling shelters open... you would be amazed just how many people do not have or cannot afford AC. There is financial assistance for these type of situations, but in Chicago trying to get the help is very SOOO difficult compared to other parts of the country.
Personally I know a couple of neighbors that don't have AC and and are elderly. I invited them to come over to my house if they need to cool off. I know they won't go to the shelters but hoping they will take me up on the offer. We may not know each other well.. but there's times you have to put that aside.
If anyone knows of someone close by without AC please extend the offer too. I know it's hard sometimes to invite those we don't know well over.. but you never know it could be the start to a new friendship on top of being a very kind thing to do!

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO AIR CONDITIONING ON SUNDAY...TRY TO SEEK
ACCESS TO YOUR COMMUNITY'S COOLING SHELTERS OR ANY OTHER AIR
CONDITIONED BUILDING. IN CHICAGO...CALL 3 1 1 FOR THE LOCATION OF
THE NEAREST COOLING SHELTER.
